2012 BMW 6-Series Convertible by Hamann is a looker

2012 BMW 6-Series Convertible by Hamann

German tuning company Hamann Motorsport just released some new information about the upcoming 6-series convertible kit. With a final product scheduled to be released at Septembers’ 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, Hamann is teasing us again with only some of what is to come.

The 6-series tune will come equipped with a sports suspension with a new set of lowering springs. A sports exhaust can be paired with it, as well.

Custom foot mats with the tuners’ logo will be part of the interior changes, along with aluminum pedals and footrest.

The car will ride on a selection of available alloy wheels sized either 20- or 21-inches. Wheel options come with a color choice of either black, silver, or black and silver.

Seems like an alright start, but Hammann has more aggressive plans in store for the official release. Hopefully we’ll get more teasers so we can talk engine specs.

Press Release:

New to the market and already optimised –
HAMANN presents sporty individualisations for the BMW 6 Cabrio (F12)

HAMANN Motorsport is known for giving new top-of-the-range cars extensive refinements shortly after they’ve been introduced to the market. And, true to form, the tuning specialist from the town of Laupheim in Baden-Württemberg can now present its comprehensive individualisation range for the BMW 6 Cabrio (F12).

For the wheel arches, customers can choose from 21-inch alloy wheels in DESIGN EDITION RACE “ANODIZED” with high-gloss chrome-plated rim flange, black spokes and titanium screws or DESIGN “ANNIVERSARY EVO” wheels in silver or matte black, available in 20 or 21-inch format. HAMANN Motorsport also offers the DESIGN EDITION RACE matte black wheels in a 20-inch version. All wheel designs can be ordered individually or as a complete set and are fully compatible with the tyre pressure sensors fitted at the factory.

In order to set the stage even better for the alloy wheels, HAMANN Motorsport has lowered the centre of gravity of the BMW 6 Cabrio (F12) by around 30 mm at the front and around 25 mm at the rear using progressive suspension springs.

HAMANN has also given the engine of the 650i Cabrio a sporty soundscape. To this end, its tuning professionals have installed a stainless steel exhaust system consisting of a four-pipe exhaust system with round 90 mm tailpipes and a middle silencer.

The car’s interior is upgraded by way of aluminium pedals and a footrest, available either in silver or anodized black. Black foot mats with a silver HAMANN logo are available as an optional extra to add a finishing touch of class to the car’s sporty cockpit.

But there is more: HAMANN already pays special attention to a fascinating car body program which will be presented to the world public at the 64th IAA in Frankfurt this September.
