Volkswagen has started deliveries of a second test fleet of the Golf blue-e-motion electric-cars to customers in Germany. Of the 80 units being tested, 53 will be sent to Berlin, while the rest will go to Hannover and Wolfsburg.

Majority of the Volkswagen Golf blue-e-motion models will be tested by corporate customers, as they are expected to be the largest market for electric-vehicles in the future. Companies taking part in the tests include Coca Cola, Continental, Deutsche Bahn and Deutsche Telekom.

Drivers of the Volkswagen Golf blue-e-motion will be able to monitor the vehicles performance through a special Apple iPhone application.

Sales of the Volkswagen Golf blue-e-motion will start in 2013.

Refresher: The Golf blue-e-motion is powered by an electric motor fitted in the front engine compartment, getting its juice from a 26.5 kilowatt-hours lithium-ion battery.
