Lincoln MKT

Over the weekend, we reported how Lincoln wants to match the drive of a BMW with the refinement of Lexus. While that may be a little far fetched, FoMoCo is kicking of the revamping of the brand by asking dealers to spend at least $1 million to renovate showrooms within the next two years.

Speaking to Lincoln dealers at the a meeting last week, FoMoCo CEO Alan Mulally said that the process of rebuilding Lincoln starts now.

A dealer who attended the meeting said that Ford expects stand-alone Lincoln dealers to spend an average of $1 million on renovations. Owners of dual Ford-Lincoln showrooms are expected to spend about $1.9 million to remodel.

Ford said that if dealers do not invest in renovations, it will take back their franchises in exchange for compensations.

Ford plans to increase U.S. sales from almost 86,000 a year in 2012 to 162,000 by 2015.

“Ford gives Lincoln dealers a $1 million, 2-year makeover ultimatum”

Pssst Ford……..save your money and ditch the brand. I don’t see BMW or Lexus owners switching.
Like the old commercial use to say, “I’d rather fight than switch”!!
