2012 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale

Okay – we understand that we have to be kind to mother nature and downsize our engines and save a couple trees here and there.. but some things just shouldn’t be messed with.

According to sources, Maserati is considering dropping its 4.2 liter and 4.7 liter V8 engines that it gets from Ferrari as hand-me-downs. The engines sound amazing, light on low-end torque and have allow you to have a lot fun at a high rpm ranges.

So what are they going to use if the drop the V8s? Insiders say that Maserati is looking to drop a 3.0 liter version of Chrysler’s Pentastar V6 into the next GranTurismo and Quattroporte. Of course, the engine will be twin-turbocharged to offer some nice horsepower.

All we have to say is, there is just something else about the rumble, sound and feel of the V8.
