Let's Talk Numbers: BMW 7-Series vs. Audi A8

It’s been a while since we’ve had a ‘Let’s Talk Numbers’ battle so we’re bringing it back today with a face-off between the 2011 BMW 7-Series and the 2011 Audi A8.

Our battle today includes the 2011 Audi A8, which is powered by a 4.2L V8 and the 2011 BMW 750i, which is powered by a 4.4L V8. We’re leaving the 740i out of this face-off since Audi doesn’t offer a 6-cylinder variant of the A8.

Here we go.

This is easy, A8 all the way.  Better looking, better fuel economy, less expensive.  What more can you ask for.

When comparing numbers of two quite different engines (and not really comparable in HP either), I think you’re comparing apples and oranges. Secondly, the top speed only relates to the limiter (that you can have removed, of course). Thirdly, I miss the weight in these stat’s, which relates to driving dynamics, economy, etc. And finally, the other numbers are expected: The Audi is lighter (I think), and has a less powerfull engine (in this comparison), so the sprint it a bit slower, but with the 8-speed auto also, the fuel economy is better by a very huge margin (more than 20% better on the highway). This saves huge on a yearly basis (if the owner cares about that).

Audi has been copying BMW for years. But as we all know, riding a wave and creating one are two completely different issues. BMW is the leader in automotive cutting edge technology. Not even a strategic lowering of prices will help. Sorry Audi!

Audi is and will remain the leader in real engineering for many generations to come. Sad that there’s a lot of stubborn BMW/Mercedes owners out there that won’t admit to this proven fact for the sole purpose that they wouldn’t want to be clowned on by Audi owners (their friends) after many arguable battles! All the hating people on here and around the world can take a lick of this lollipop because Audi is the ‘ish and hands down smashing records right now. Realistically I give BMW about 18 months of leading sales and they’re DONE!!! Check up on it… (I’ll drop my email so that you chumps can hit me up after this statement is proven in the time limit I announced, if not before!) (Gcervantes242424@gmail.com)
