Report: Audi A9 to debut sometime in 2014

Audi A9 Concept

We’ve been hearing about the Audi A9 for quite sometime now. The rumors about the car started off as a four-door-coupe, which would share the platform with the Lamborghini Estoque and last we heard the model was going to be a full-size coupe based on the A8 architecture.

According to recent reports, the Audi A9 will be built in Neckarsulm alongside the A8 and R8. When can we expect it to hit showrooms? If reports are to be believed, look for it sometime in 2014. Price wise, the Audi A9 will be positioned above the BMW 6-Series and right below the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class.

Powertrain wise, the Audi A9 will feature a 3.0 V6 TFSI making 211-hp, a 290-hp 3.0L V6 TFSI, a 420-hp 4.0L twin-turbo V8 and a 520-hp 4.0 twin-turbo V8 for the S9. Diesel choices will include a 3.0L V6 TDI making 250-hp and a 4.2L V8 TDI making 350-hp.

We’ll get more details as 2014 gets closer.
