Spy Shot: First photo of the 2012 BMW M5 4.4L twin-trubo V8
What you’re looking at here is the first photo of the new BMW M5 F10 engine, obtained by M5board forums.
The 2012 BMW M5 will make its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, which is when we’ll get the full specs of the car’s powertrain.
So far, BMW has confirmed that the 2012 BMW M5 will use a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 featuring TwinPower Turbo Technology. The engine is speculated to produce somewhere north of 580-hp while reducing fuel-consumption and emissions by 25 percent.
