2,000-hp Dartz Prombron’ Nagel pulls yachts

Dartz Prombron' Nagel

Apparently there is a market for a sedan that will tow around a yacht. A company by the name Dartz Prombron’ has partnered up with Gray Design to build the 2012 Dartz Prombron’ Nagel, the world’s first armored sedan that is designed for pulling yachts.

There is some considerable amount of history (which you can read more about after the jump) behind the Dartz Prombron’ Nagel but the car is being built to celebrate the anniversary of some achievement we’re not going to get into.

The Dartz Prombron’ Nagel will be launched in 2012 and will be powered by a 2,000-hp engine (don’t ask us how because they didn’t tell us) with a projected top speed of 155 mph.

Crazy idea? Yes. Will it sell? Probably.

History
In the cold winter of 1911, on the last day of the year, two heroes, Andrey Nagel and Vadim Mikhailoff set off for the Monte Carlo Rally, traveling the furthest distance of any team – 3260 km.

In the long distance race, they drove the C24/55 Monaco RussoBalt sportscar which was specially named for the Monte Carlo Rally after the french name RussoBaltique.

The journey turned out to be a victorious one with the team winning nine awards from HSH Monaco Prince Louis III, and upon their return were awarded the Order of St. Anna from the Russian Tzar Nikolaus II.

RussoBalt continued to make sports and armored cars, royal lancelets and airplanes, not to mention that even the famous helicopter inventor, Sikorsky, was also a RussoBalt engineer.

Anniversary
The Dartz Prombron’ Nagel is being built on the anniversary of this great achievement, commemorating Monaco’s great yachting tradition. Designed by Eduard Gray of Gray Design, the car is built on the Dartz Prombron’ platform using the worlds safest KAPSULA technology to ensure the greatest peace of mind for it’s passengers.
