Let's Talk Numbers: Ferrari 458 Italia vs. McLaren MP4-12C

Today on egmCarTech, we’re launching a new segment called ‘Let’s Talk Numbers.’ What’s this new segment all about? Basically, we take two or more vehicles and do a straight number comparison and leave the arguing up to the visitor. It’s just a new section that will allow us to connect with our visitors and talk cars like we love to do.

Our first comparo is between the new Ferrari 458 Italia and the McLaren MP4-12C – why? Well, because everyone loves supercars and everyone loves talking about which is the best one out there (even if all of us can’t afford to park one in our driveway). Here we go.

Okay… the numbers here are very close. I think I’m going to go with the Ferrari 458 Italia just because it’s a better looking car

  • John

I’d go with the McLaren and its scissor doors

  • The Q

0.1 sec and 3 mph aren’t enough to make up for the Italia’s looks. That being said the new McLaren MP4-12C GT3 trumps both….but I guess that’s a different comparison for a different day

MC for sure. I’m very skeptical of Ferrari now, after the whole debacle with Chris Harris. Besides their building is an engineering delight all by itself.

I would have to go with the Ferrari 458 Italia here. Nothing is as beautiful as the 458 Italia

still think the McClaren looks rather old fashioned.
