At the 2007 LA Auto Show, Audi unveiled the Cross Cabriolet quattro concept without any word of it making it into production. New reports now suggest that the Audi Cross Cabriolet quattro concept is conceivable only if there is a market for it.

An Audi’s USA executive said that “if there is enough demand, about 5,000 units per year, the Audi Q5 cabriolet could go into production as a limited edition model.” Audi believes that there is a market for the Q5 drop-top, especially in fair-weather countries like the United States.

The Audi Cross Cabriolet quattro concept is a two-door four-seater convertible powered by a 3.0 liter TDI that produces 240 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. 0-62 takes 7.2 seconds while fuel-economy estimated to average 32.2mpg.

Do you think Audi should produce it? Let us know in the comments section after the jump.
