At the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show earlier this month, Mini unveiled its Mini Inspired by Goodwood, a model based on the Mini Cooper S with some nice Rolls-Royce luxury and exclusivity.

Sources say that the Goodwood name could soon become Mini’s flagship brand for high-end, customer specific luxury versions. Insiders said that the Goodwood badge will be used on other luxury Mini models in the same way that the John Cooper Works badge represents high-performance models.

The Mini Inspired by Goodwood Cooper model is limited to just 1,000 units worldwide with deliveries to start in spring 2012. Prices will be announced closer to launch but don’t expect them to be ‘affordable.’
