According to reports, Mini USA dealers have officially ordered their launch units of the Mini Coupe.

“MINI USA gave dealers some choices including Cooper or Cooper S and auto or manual,” reports MotoringFile. “At launch each dealer will get two MCS and one MC to have for test drives and showroom cars.”

It has been previously reported that BMW will add 1,000 jobs at its Oxfordshire plant to build two new models for the Mini brand. Those two models are said to be the Mini Coupe and the Mini Roadster.

The Mini Coupe is designed to fit a 1.6L twin-scroll turbocharged 4-cylinder making 208-hp / 192 lb-ft. The Roadster is designed to carry a 1.6L twin-scroll turbocharged 4-cylinder with 175-hp / 177 lb-ft of torque.

If all goes as planned, the Mini Coupe should hit dealers by August 2011, followed by the Mini Roadster.
