Brand Spankin’ New Images: Mercedes-Benz Concept A in all its glory

The Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class made its world debut today at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show and the Stuttgart automaker has released a bunch of new images of the hatchback concept giving us a closer look at the future BMW 1-Series, Audi A3 rival.

The production version of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class is scheduled to arrive sometime next year.

Refresher: Power for the Mercedes-Benz Concept A comes from a transversely mounted 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged, direct-injected engine that produces 210-hp with a maximum torque of 229 lb-ft. The engine in the Concept A is mated to a dual-clutch transmission, although Mercedes-Benz won’t say how many gears we have to shift with here.
