Earlier this week, BMW unveiled the Concept M5, which will debut at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show later this month. So when will we get to see the production BMW M5? You’ll have to wait until September – until the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The 2012 BMW M5 is confirmed to be powered by a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine that makes use of the company’s TwinPower Turbo Technology. The engine should be good for upwards of 580-hp, while at the same time lowering previous fuel consumption and emission levels by at least 25 percent, BMW said.
