According to new reports, Renault plans on introducing a range of off-roaders based on the CAPTUR Concept that it unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show last month. Executives have told AutoExpres that the CAPTUR crossover will be the smallest model in a new family of three SUVs that it is producing with its alliance partner Nissan (so that’s why the CAPTUR looks like the Nissan Juke).

While all the SUVs will feature design cues from the CAPTUR, the smallest model will be the only one that shares its platform with the Nissan Juke. The two larger models will share the underpinnings from the next-generation Qashqai. The largest model will have similar dimensions
to the X-Trail off-roader.

The models will feature gasoline and diesel engines from 1.6 to 1.8 liters with output ranging from 128-hp to 158-hp.

All of these new SUVs are a part of Renault plans to produce 44 models by 2013 and 48 by 2016.
