Looking for more Fiat and Chrysler architecture sharing? According to a new report Fiat has plans to launch a new compact sedan in China and Russia based on the next-generation Dodge Caliber that will launch in North America next January.

The sedan is scheduled to go into production in China in the second half of 2012.

The Italian automaker also has plans to launch a mid-sized sedan in China and Russia in late 2013. That model will be based on the next-generation of the Dodge Avenger, which will debut in the United States in the same year.

Both sedans are based on Fiat’s new Compact architecture, which Chrysler and Fiat call Compact Wide. The architecture first debuted on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta hatchback.

Fiat/Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said that the sedans will be the first example of the global reach of the two company’s alliance. The Compact Wide architecture will also underpin future Jeep and mid-sized SUVs.
