Next Audi RS4 to appear only as 5-door estate, powered by 4.2L V8
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Audi RS4 and we definitely miss the true BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG competitor. According to reports, Audi is out testing the next-generation Audi RS4 at the Nurburgring alongside a range of other high-performance future Audi models.
According to reports, the next-generation Audi RS4 will have the same running gear as the Audi RS5 – that means we’ll see the 4.2L naturally aspirated V8 making 450-hp and a maximum torque of 317 lb-ft. The engines will be mated to a 7-speed S tronic transmission.
Unfortunately, sources say that the next Audi RS4 will only appear in a 5-door estate model – Audi RS4 Avant. That means we probably won’t ever see it on the stateside.
Audi’s next RS4 is scheduled to debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
