The Audi Q3 compact SUV (a BMW X1 competitor) will debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show later this year. Production of the Audi Q3 will be taken care of at Volkswagen AG Seat brand’s Martorell plant, near Barcelona. According to Audi, the production of the Q3 will add 700 new jobs at the plant.
The Catalan government’s Department of Business and Employment and Seat have signed an agreement to train new workers on how to build the Q3. As a part of the agreement, 1,200 employees will receive training.

According to V-dub, production of Q3 guarantees a total of 1,500 jobs at Seat. Volkswagen will invest about 300 million euros ($425 million) at the Martorell plant so it can build up to 100,000 units of the Q3 per year.
The Audi Q3 will carry a range of 4-cylinder turbo engines including a 168-hp 2.0L TFSI, a 208-hp 4-cylinder TFSI and a 2.0L TDI making 168-hp.
