Chris Bangle on supercar design

Whether or not you’re a fan of Chris Bangle, the former BMW head of design has contributed significantly to where the company’s design is headed today.

At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the team at CarDesignNews had a chance to quickly ask Bangle a question. Instead of asking about what Bangle is up to now and where he’s headed, Editor Eric Gallina asked him what his thoughts are on supercar design today.

Bangle’s answer was quite interesting and entertaining. For more entertaining than anything he would have said a couple years back.

    It’s nice to finally have answers to questions such as where Bangle draws the line on how much money should be spent on a mistress.

    BMW, your latest 6 series is a bland, exceedingly boring bit of design (an grossly inflated 3 series).
    Its OK, we forgive Chris for being ahead of his time. Looking back at his work was and continues to be revolutionary even today.
    Now, please bring him back, so we can experience what else he can do.
