GM recalling more than 10,000 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX models
General Motors announced today that it is recalling 10,179 units of the 2011 Buick LaCrosse sedans and Cadillac SRX crossovers in the United States to address a software glitch in the climate control system. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the glitch could prevent the defroster from clearing the windshield, which would decrease the driver’s visibility and could result in a crash.
GM said it knows of no crashes or injuries related to the issue.
Dealers will fix the issue by reprogramming the software. More than 8,000 units in the recall are SRX models.
