While Smart USA may be going through some big changes, the company hasn’t stopped development on future products. The new Smart Forspeed concept will make its debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and here is the first look at the new study.

Power comes from a rear-mounted 41-hp electric-motor that allows it to run from 0 to 37 mph in 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 75 mph. At the push of button, just in case you decide to race other electric-cars, 7 extra horses are available. On a full charge, the Smart Forspeed concept can travel a total range of 84 miles.

So is it Forspeed? Not really. Does it look like it? A little.

No word on when or if the Forspeed will be produced but we’re guessing the concept provides a look into the future of Smart’s design philosophy.
