2012 Nissan GT-R, 2011 Chevy Corvette Z06, 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 drag race

We love drag races… why? Because they are just fun, exciting and provide winners with bragging rights that their vehicle are better than the ones that just got beaten. Sticking in the five-figure price range, the guys at MotorTrend recently decided to take the 2012 Nissan GT-R, 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 to the track for a straight line race.

Here’s what happened…

hear that? that’s the sound of the GT-R’s warranty becoming null and void…crikey that thing is fast though

That may be fast but I rather have the old school stick=)

GT-R’s electronic launch control – u need to try it before comparing those inferior brands

  • Firekyro

    They fixed that warranty issue.

Some of us just get more enjoyment out of driving the car rather than have it drive us. If just going fast is your thing, more power to you my friend.

Inferior brands…lol. Buddy at work has one and even he says its not perfect. Anyways the GT-R has a great drive train and puts to use every inch of its AWD. Would have been cool to see the ZR1 eat the GT-R but I guess the Z06 is closer to the segment. Fun clip!

BTW- Launch Control is now called by Nissan = R Mode Start Function

    Hmmmm……$99,500 compared too $140,000
    GTR to ZR1

Hmmmmm…….I get to drive and talk with 3 friends at the sametime.
    You??

I get to hammer through a blizzard of snow and ice here in Canada like a Jeep lol.
    You??

SOOOOO much more money. The practicality and functionality of the ZR1 is pathetic!!!

Have fun in your ‘PLASTIC’ interior dinky car little boys!!!

    Cheers!
