BMW 2.0L 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo

BMW 2.0L 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo

According to new information from inside the company, BMW plans on turbocharging each and every 4-cylinder gasoline engine it produces. BMW’s first 4-cylinder engine recently made its debut in the 2011 BMW X1 xDrive28i for Europe. The 2.0L 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine produces 245-hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Sources say that all 4-cylinder turbo units will be based on the same new generation 2.0L aluminum block but will have different power outputs. Lower-power output versions of the 2.0L unit will get a conventional single turbo.

BMW has officially confirmed that the 4-cylinder turbo vehicles will be coming to the United States at the end of this year.
