Rumor: 2012 Honda Civic Si to get 2.4L powertrain

Honda is working hard to quickly roll out the next-generation Civic, however, there is quite a lot of anticipation for the next Civic Si.

While Honda hasn’t confirmed any powertrain options for the next-generation Civic, it is rumored that the next-generation Civic Si will get a 2.4L unit found in the Acura TSX. No word on exact output numbers but its is speculated to produce between 200-210-hp. With 20 percent more displacement, torque numbers will also be significantly better, likely in the neighborhood of 170 lb-ft.

The base 2012 Civic will arrive in showrooms in April/May 2011, followed shortly by the Civic Si.
