BMW’s O’Donnell: 4-cylinder turbo vehicles will arrive before year-end
Speaking today at the 2011 Washington Auto Show, BMW North America CEO Jim O’Donnell confirmed that 4-cylinder turbo vehicles will arrive before the end of 2011.
“We will soon announce what vehicles will feature this dynamic new turbo 4-cylinder in the US,” O’Donnell said. “And, they will arrive before year-end. We invite you to stay tuned.”
O’Donnell did not confirm which vehicle will be the first to get the 4-cylinder turbo engine, but earlier this month the 2011 BMW X1 received a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo in Europe. The engine produces 245-hp and 258 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a 6-speed automatic.
As O’Donnell said… stay tuned.
