Tired of the same old Mini Cooper designer? While the design of Minis is iconic, BMW Group design boss Adrian van Hooydonk says that the next-generation Mini will be a “bigger design leap than the last one.”
van Hooydonk said that Andres Warming, Mini’s new design boss, will start the design of the third-generation model from a clean sheet of paper, although he will “have to balance that against the fact that it is the brand’s core model, like the 3, 5 and 7-series rolled into one.”
Insiders say that Mini has been diligently working on a new interior design language in order to get rid of the them of the large centrally mounted speedometer.
On a side note, van Hooydonk was spotted checking out the interior of the new Hyundai Veloster at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show.
