Gumpert to show second production model at 2011 Geneva Motor Show

The future Geneva Motor Show is turning out to be one that will be very interesting. Supercar maker Gumpert said that it will launch its second production model at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March. The design of the new model comes courtesy of Touring Superleggera, the design firm that is responsible for the Bentley Continental ‘station wagon.’

Touring said that the new model’s goal is to add “space, liveability and comfort to Gumpert’s typical sheer performance attitude”. The result is a blend of very Italian sporty elegance and German high-end engineering.”

The two-seater will be known as the Gumpert Tornante by Touring and will “opens a new class of automobiles born for the extremely dynamic and fast voyage.”

The Gumpert Tornante will feature a new carbon fiber monocoque and a mid-mount V8 unit, which will likely be a development of the 4.2L twin-turbo V8 from the Apollo.

Gumpert didn’t release any images of the Tornante, so we’ll have to wait until Geneva to see some high-res photos.
