High-end German sports car manufacturer Porsche, says that it is considering launching production in North America and China, in order to better effectuate its pursuit of its ambitious goals. One such goal, is that to double annual sales from 100,000 to 200,000 units.
CEO Matthias Mueller has identified the United States as the brand’s most important market to achieving growth, and has said that with a mix of new vehicles coming to the Porsche lineup, there is the potential for 200,000 annual units sold.
The brand is also planning big things for China, as it expands the dealer netowrk out there from 35 dealers to 85, builds a test-track near Shanghai, and open a customer center on the site. Porsche may also utilize a site in China that builds the Audi Q5 to build its new Cajun SUV.
