We hope it’s true: BMW NA to offer CSL-style decals for 1-Series M Coupe

We love the BMW 1-Series here and even more than that we love the new 2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe. According to rumors that have us even more excited about the new compact M model, BMW North America is looking to offer decals for the model when it goes on sale.

Sources say that the decal kit will give owners a chance to make their 1-Series M Coupe look like a more modern version of the traditional 3.0 CSL. We recently say a rendering of a possible ‘CSL’ type version for the 1-Series M Coupe courtesy of Jon Sibal. At the time, insiders said that a CSL version of the 1-Series M Coupe could happen at the end of its life cycle.

If this turns out to be true, you can have the kit installed at any BMW dealership that sells the 1M.

Refresher: The 2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe is powered by a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine making 335-hp and a maximum torque of 332 lb-ft. Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the 2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe goes from 0 to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds (0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds) with a top speed of 155 mph. Prices start at $47,010.
