John Lennon Ferrari

John Lennon’s first car, a 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Coupe, is being auctioned off and is estimated to fetch between $155,000 and $220,000. The British auction house Bonhams will handle the auction in Paris on February 5th.

Another car equipped as Lennon’s would be expected to fetch between $60,000 and $109,000, depending on condition and available equipment.

Don’t let the fact that his first car was a Ferrari fool you; by no means was Lennon a spoiled rich kid. He didn’t get his drivers license until 1965, after the Beatles had made it big. Lennon only owned the Ferrari a few months, as he soon purchased a Rolls Royce, which he had done in a custom psychedelic paint scheme.

Lennon’s last car, a 1972 Chrysler Town & Country station wagon used when he lived in New York City, sold for just $5,500. Lennon was said to have preferred the latter car however, as it allow dhim to travel largely unnoticed.
