Chrysler to drop either Dodge Grand Caravan or Chrysler Town & Country in 2014

For those of you hate minivans, we have some good news for you. Chrysler’s CEO Sergio Marchionne said at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show that the company will kill one of its two traditional minivans for the next-generation, scheduled to arrive in 2014. However, he said whichever brand gets rid of minivan would most likely get some kind of “people move,” maybe without sliding doors (probably hinting at a large crossover).

It is said that Dodge will most likely get to keep its Grand Caravan, since it has sold better than the outgoing Chrysler Town & Country. However, the Town & Country was the segment leader in 2010 and Marchionne say s that the Chrysler brand does not want to lose the model.

    I’ve bought 2 Caravans and 1 Town and Country, and I agree that there is a place for both. On almost all other counts, though, I agree with Sergio’s moves. But not this one

    I have owned 5 Dodge Caravans and 4 Town & Countrys…If they drop either I’ll buy Ford…

    Chrysler should drop the Town&Country and keep the Dodge Caravan, keep with the tradition of minivans and most importantly, keep what started the minivan craze! What bout bringing the Grand Voyager back to the USA? It’s Voyager name is still used as a minivan in other countrys under the Lancia name plate! BRING BACK ALL WHEEL DRIVE to the minivan, should have never been dropped as an option and i’d like someone to explain something to me, I have owned all the caravan packages ES,SE,LE,SXT,eL. Dodge finaly makes A MAN VAN R/T version and you drop power moonroof as an option?????? REALLY????????
