Jeep Wagoneer

Here at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, Chrysler Group LLC CEO Sergio Marchionne said that Jeep will resurrect its ‘Grand Wagoneer’ nameplate for a 7-seater SUV that will be built on the same platform as the Grand Cherokee and the Dodge Durango.

“It’s time we gave the market an upper-scale Grand Wagoneer,” Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said today. “You’ll see it in January 2013.”

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer was a part of Jeep’s lineup dating from its introduction in 1963 to the last model that was sold in 1991. It ended its life as a luxury vehicle, selling to wealthy buyers.

Ummm… Going on past history, wasn’t the Commander an epic fail for Chrysler? I just remember pictures featuring parking lots full of them.

Not sure if luxe is the way to go on this–I would go more the he-man REAL sport utility vehicle direction. One guy told me you could fit a whole dead male elk in the back of the old models, plus hunting dogs: http://merriamassociates.com/2011/01/jeep-wagoneer-old-brands-getting-new-life/

Our pregnant daughter was hit by a drunk driver in her 2008 Commander & survived without a scratch. 2 of her neighbors, 1 of her cousins, & her parents, that’d be US, all went out & bought one. It’s a wonderful car, looks great, handles great, no problems! When we heard they were dropping them we tried to get a new one but someone beat us to them; they are all gone. Check out how they hold their price! Drive one, you get it! It’s a JEEP COMMANDER THING, really.

The new Jeep is a good bit more fuel efficient than its predecessors and its off-road performance is also pretty good..

I own a 2009 Jeep Commander.  I LOVE IT we bought it brand new, When I  bought mine two of my friends went and bought one too after riding in mine.  And I was sad to hear that Jeep dropped the commander also.  It does everything I need it to do I have 3 kids there is room for them and friends.  I have never driven a vehicle that I feel so safe for my family.  In the snow it goes without a slip…I work in the medical profession so a State of Emergency due to bad weather I still need to go….and without a worry I was moving when nothing else was.  I hope that Jeep brings something else out just like it so when I need a new Jeep I can get another one.
