The 2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe is the star of BMW’s display here at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, making it the perfect time for the company to announce the U.S. pricing details of the car.
So how much will it cost? Well, if you already haven’t read the title we recommend getting stronger glasses, but BMW says the car will carry a starting MSRP of $47,010, making it the cheapest M model we’ve seen in a while. The current cheapest model from BMW’s M lineup is the M3 Sedan, which starts at $55,900.

Refresher: The 2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe is powered by a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine making 335-hp and a maximum torque of 332 lb-ft. Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the 2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe goes from 0 to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds (0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds) with a top speed of 155 mph.
