Nissan to shift production of next-generation Rogue to Tennessee

2011 Nissan Rogue

The Nissan Rogue is currently produced at the company’s factory in Kyushu, Japan. Well, the automaker plans to shift production of the next-generation Rogue crossover to its new factory in Tennessee.

Nissan Americas chief Carlos Tavares said that the shift of the Rogue’s production to Smyrna, Tennessee will take place by 2013 and results in more than 100,000 units annually.

Tavares sited strong Japanese yen as one of the reasons for moving production to local markets.
