Report: Mazda working on compact entry-level SUV

Mazda CX-7

Yesterday, we heard reports that Volvo is working on an entry-level SUV by the name of XC30. According to new reports Mazda is also looking to get into the mix of compact entry-level SUVs and is said to be working on a vehicle internally known as the CX-3 or CX-5.

According to sources, the car will sit on a modified 3 platform and will use Mazda’s range of Sky-G and Sky-D engines.

If the reports are to be believed the compact Mazda SUV will debut sometime at the end of 2011 – around the 2011 Tokyo or Los Angeles Auto Show.
