Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson dress up in burkhas

No surprise to the everyday Top Gear fan, but the show’s presenters have once again risked controversy by dressing up in burkhas on the show’s special “Three Wise Men” Christmas edition.

During the show, hosts Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond both wore veils to cheer up co-presenter James May after he was hospitalized as a result of hitting his head.

This isn’t the first time Top Gear has been the center of controversy. In a similar situation in July, viewers complained after Clarkson said he had seen a Muslim woman wearing a g-string under her burkha.

6.6 million viewers tuned into watch Clarkson, Hammond and May drive from Iraq to Bethlehem via Turkey, Syria and Jordan.
