Volkswagen recalls 377,286 vehicles to repair risk of fire from fuel-supply lines

We just love writing about recalls – it’s so much fun that we might even make a sub-site called egmRecallTech (there was a lot of sarcasm there. Volkswagen has announced that it is recalling 377,286 vehicles in the United States including Beetle and Jetta models due to a fire risk from fuel-supply lines that may chafe and leak.

The recall consists the Jetta, Jetta SportWagen, Golf, Rabbit, New Beetle and New Beetle Convertible cars.

“It’s a voluntary safety recall,” said Kerry Christopher, a spokesman for Volkswagen said. “There haven’t been any reports of injuries or fires that have resulted from this.”

The recall applies to model year 2007 to 2009 Jettas, Golfs, Rabbits and model year 2006 to 2010 of Beetles.
