Jaguar considers approving crossover for production, XF station wagon on the way

Here is something we definitely saw coming – Jaguar is considering giving a crossover SUV the thumbs up for production, sources say.

“We need a crossover and we need to stop being a saloon-based company,” boss Adrian Hallmark told AutoCar.

Hallmark went on to say that all-wheel-drive sedans will also need to be a part of Jaguar’s future to attract more appeal on the east cost of the United States and parts of Europe. He also confirmed that an estate version of the XF is on the way and is expected to account for a fifth of the model’s sales. If that wasn’t enough, Hallmark also said that lightweight cars are part of “our future DNA”.
