Transtar Dagger GT to get 2,500-hp variant, will break just about every record in the world

Transtar Racing Dagger GT

We first saw the Transtar Racing Dagger GT back in July and at the time the company promised to rewrite history of the world’s fastest supercar, promising 2,000-hp while going from 0-60 mph in just 1.5 seconds.

A couple months later, not much has changed but Transtar Racing has dropped some new high-res photos of the car showing some minor design changes.

The Transtar Racing team consists of some engineers with very strong backgrounds, which include aerodynamics experts that used to work for NASA and the designer of the Saleen S7.

With that in mind, along with a 572 multi-fuel twin-turbo 2,000-hp engine from Nelson Racing Engines, Transtar promises that the Dagger GT will break just about every record in the world, including a Nurburgring Nordschleife track time. Mated to a TranStar/Mendeola 6-speed transmission 0-60 mph is estimated to come in 1.5 seconds with a top speed of 314 mph. Transtar says it is also working on a 2,500-hp version.

Prices are expected to come in at $450,000 with only 5 units earmarked for 2011 and 10 for 2012.

We’ll believe it when we see it.
