Daimler Financial Services changes name to Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA
Daimler Financial Services has officially changed its name to Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA as it moves to make the brand more popular in the United States. The name change is the final stage in the company’s “clean sheet of paper” approach to the U.S. market, the new company said in a statement.
While the name has changed, everything else will remain the same for the financier, which remains the financial unit for Mercedes-Benz USA and Daimler Truck Financial. It will also serve to the commercial vehicle brands of Daimler Trucks North America: Freightliner, Western Star and Thomas Built Buses.
“This is an opportunity for us to align our business identity with the tremendous brand equity of Mercedes-Benz, one of the best-known brands in the world,” CEO Franz Reiner said in the release. “We will continue to serve and support our dealers and retail customers in this highly competitive premium passenger-car segment and heavy-duty trucking industry in the United States.”
