GM invests $37 million in Lansing Delta Township plant

General Motors has announced a $37 million investment at its Lansing Delta Township assembly plant earmarked for tooling and equipment to enhance the plant”s manufacturing capabilities.

“This investment is the result of the commitment from the employees and leadership at Lansing Delta Township,” said GM Manufacturing Manager Gerald Johnson. “Their dedication to building high-quality products competitively is why we are investing in their future.”

Lansing Delta Township is home to the Lambda platform based crossovers including the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia. All three vehicles have seen an increase of 36 percent in September. The Buick Enclave has increased retails sales 89 percent compared to last year.

“The men and women of UAW Local 602 focus on quality each and every day, and our customers see that focus when they start up their vehicle,” said UAW Local 602 President Brian Fredline.
