Report: Ford Start to enter production in 2014, will replace Ka

Ford Start Concept

When the Ford Start Concept made its debut at the 2010 Beijing Motor Show, many thought the model was hint at the future replacement for the Ka subcompact in the global market. According to reports coming out of Britain, the production version of the Start Concept could go on sale in 2014 with prices starting under $13,000.

Initially, the model will be sold in emerging markets including India, China and South America – but it could eventually make its way around the world, including Europe.

The Ford Start Concept is powered by a 1.0L 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine that delivers power and torque comparable to a normally-aspirated I-4 powerplant. As of yet, Ford has not confirmed that it will do a 3-cylinder EcoBoost.
