2010 Mercury Milan

According to FoMoCo’s sales analyst George Pipas, the Dearborn automaker today ended production of Mercury passenger cars and SUVs for retail customers. The last retail 2011 Mercury Mariner was built in Kansas City, said Pipas.

Additional Mercury models will roll of the production line by the end of the year, but those will go to fleet customers including corporate, the government and rental car agencies.

However, if you think that the end of Mercury’s production means some nice bargains for you, think again. Many Mercury models have lost their bonus cash offers and FoMoCo seems to be compensating that by offering customers free basic maintenance programs on select models.

Separately, in August, FoMoCo produced 9,039 new Mercurys – an increase of 120.2 percent month-over-month. Mercury even outsold Lincoln by nearly 9% in total volume in that same month.
