At the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the new management team at Lotus Cars laid out an aggressive plan for the future of the company. The debuts include five new cars, including a sedan (which we’ll talk about shortly)

One of the first models to be revealed is the new Lotus Esprit in concept form. The 2013 Lotus Esprit will go on sale in production form in spring 2013 and will cost around $175,000.

“The Esprit is the ultimate supercar. In the past when people thought of the Esprit, they thought of the movies, Bond, Pretty Woman, Basic Instinct, but this time around, the car is the star of the show,” said new CEO Dany Bahar, who is an ex-Ferrari executive.

Power for the Lotus Esprit comes from a 5.0L V8 engine making 620-hp allowing for 0-60 mph to come in less than 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph. The tech specs also include a KERS, Formula 1-style brake energy regeneration system as an option. The system will absorb and discharge electrical energy to provide an extra acceleration boost through an electric motor. Weight comes in at around 3,190 pounds.
