Spy Shots: Saab 9-4X seen before LA debut

The Saab 9-4X is scheduled to make its world debut at the 2010 LA Auto Show in November but we’re getting an early look today through some spy shots shared by Saabs United.

The Saab 9-4X crossover will be based on the same underpinnings as the Chevrolet Equinox GMC Terrain and the Cadillac SRX, which are built on GM”s Theta platform with all-wheel-drive.

The Saab 9-4X was expected to enter production in 2009, but was delayed when GM sold Saab to Spyker.

Let us know what you think in the comments section after the jump.

It’s definitely the best looking and most premium of the two Theta-Premium platform, besting it’s SRX cousin on proportion and style. I wonder how the Saab engineers spent the extra time they had to hone the chassis and tweak the dynamics of the CUV to make it more palatable to the typical Saab customer. It doesn’t have much to do with the Equinox, though, in the same way the SRX doesn’t share much with the equinox. SRX/9-4x yes, Equinox/SRX/9-4x, no.
