2011 Dodge Challenger to get 305-hp Pentastar V6, SRT8 to get 475-hp 6.4L V8

2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8

A brochure for the 2011 Dodge Challenger has been leaked on the web giving us a highlight of some changes to what’s going to be under the hood of Auburn Hill’s muscle car.

The base model gets Chrysler’s new 3.5L Pentastar V6 engine making 305-hp and 268 lb-ft of torque – an increase of 55-hp and 18 lb-ft over the outgoing model. The 2011 Challenger R/T carries over its 5.7L HEMI V8, which has been tuned to produce a total of 379-hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The top-of-the-line 2011 Challenger SRT8 drops its 6.1L HEMI V8 for a 6.4L V8 making 475-hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. That’s a significant horsepower jump over the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS and the 2011 Ford Mustang.

Dodge has also upgraded the suspension, added improved braking and added new Firestone Firehawk tires for a better grip on the road.

No major changes to the styling are expected.
