Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

As we learned yesterday, during its 2010 Dealer Announcement Show in Orlando earlier this week, Chrysler Group LLC showed dealers a successor to the 2012 Dodge Viper. According to sources, the 2012 Dodge Viper concept shown to dealers resembled the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione with a Viper face.

“Dealers said they were told the company”s new product committee took one look at the Viper and unanimously approved its production within five minutes,” The Wall Street Journal reported.

The Dodge Viper ended production at Chrysler’s Conner Avenue assembly plant in Detroit on July 1.

Alfa Romeo sold the limited-edition 8C Competizione in select Maserati dealerships throughout North America. A total of 84 coupes and 35 Spiders (convertibles) were sold in 2009 through seven Maserati dealerships.

Sorry but the Alfa 8c does not a Viper make. This is one of those high strung cars, small engines tweaked almost to breaking designed for the guys in the $700 plus shoe club. Guys who couldn’t change their own tire. or check the cars oil. The Viper is a Mans car, tough, wild, full of spirit, and definitely not a weak tweaked out motor. This is meant for the guy who knows cars, how they work and has the balls to tame this beast or at the least has enough beast in him to handle it. The Viper isn’t the car to get your mistress….but the 8c…. maybe if she’s good. No I am sorry, a European Stallion isn’t a viable replacement for the Viper. If this is the nest car …let the Viper rest and come up with a new name for this …maybe something like Accola would be better. lol

Alfa – NOT ! Where do you people get such crazy wild not-even-close guesses ? Maybe you should stop guessing and listen to those who actually KNOW something ? The dealers – or those of US AT VIPER OWNER’S convention who actually SAW the real deal, sat with the Dodge engineers and CEO.. – could have told you NOT an Alfa. Tell you what… put up a picture of a red VIPER GTS… on steroids.. and you will be much closer. and yes.. V10 lives ! “Viper. The legend lives on !” as Ralph Gilles showed us.
It’s a Home Run ! They got it Right !

Ever heard of the Devon GTX? It resembles and Alfa, but has a 640hp Viper V10.
