Back when Daimler AG and Renault/Nissan announced a strategic alliance where both would cooperate on building electric-vehicles, both were arguing over who can produce the best battery power pack as they kick off plans to jointly produce electric-cars. Well, it seems like they’ve come to an understanding. According to Thomas Weber, Daimler’s chief developer, Renault/Nissan and Daimler have expanded their partnership to develop cut the cost of development of electric cars.
“We won’t be able to meet the target of 95 grams CO2 in 2020 without electric vehicles with batteries and fuel cells,” Weber said.
Both companies have decided to broaden their existing partnership and hope to cut costs by building scale.
