Nissan, Suzuki recall models with Garmin navigation

Nissan announced today that it is recalling vehicles equipped with some Garmin Ltd. Nuvi model navigation systems. The recall comes due to an issue with batteries that could overheat and cause a fire, Japan’s National Transportation Safety Commission said on its Web site.

Models affected include the 2008-2010 Altima, Pathfinder, Frontier, Rogue, Sentra, Versa and Xterra, the NTSC said.

Some Suzuki vehicles including the 2008-2010 SX4 crossovers, Grand Vitara SUVs, and Equator models are also being recalled.
