The hardcore track oriented 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 is back but to get your hands on one you’ll have to find  a dealer that has the right credentials to sell one. While all Ford dealers will have the opportunity to earn a 2012 Mustang Boss 302, they will have to meet two methods of requirement.

The first requirement, known as Share of Nation, will allocate a large percentage of the 2012 Boss 302 production to the dealers that sell 75 percent of the retail Mustangs. According to boss302forum.com, 12 months of sales will be used to determine dealers participating in the Share of Nation. Each of the dealers participating in the Share of Nation is guaranteed at least one unit of the Mustang Boss 302.

The second requirement, those not participating in the Share of Nation, will make dealers enter into a lottery. Each Ford dealer taking part in the lottery will receive one chip to enter the lottery. Those with zero Mustang sales in the past 12 months will receive one chip in the lottery. However, no dealer will earn more than one Boss 302 through the lottery.

Refresher: The 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 uses the same 5.0L V8 from the 2011 GT but to achieve the high-rpm horsepower to make it competitive on the track, Ford added a new intake, revised camshafts and a more aggressive control calibration. All that results in 440-hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels through a race inspired short-throw, close-ratio six-speed manual transmission handles gear change duties.
